Hi Everyone and thank you for visiting my blog.
The idea of this blog is to allow my friends, family and anyone kind enough to sponsor me to follow my training and the big event in February 2019. As you might have already guessed, I am doing a 100km trek through the Sahara to raise money for the Brain Tumour Charity. This is an amazing charity that helps raise funds for vital research, raising awareness and providing support for people and their families who have been affected by this disease.
Brain Tumours are the biggest killer for those under the age of 40. I personally lost my husband, David, in 2011 from a Glioblastoma. He was 28 years old and we had only been married 14 months. Going through this and becoming a widow at 26 was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. I want to be able to help those who are going through the same with their loved ones and to help defeat brain tumours once and for all.
On Saturday 16th June, it will be 36 weeks until I begin my trek in the Sahara. This will probably the second hardest thing I will ever do, especially as I hate sand, but I know it will be worth it! Please sponsor me and follow me through my challenge!
